Looking good in Sydney tonight

Looks like tonight is going to be really good for observing and imaging in Sydney
CFN shows no cloud until 4am , minimal wind and a low Jetstream !!
Added bonus is a new moon
Take advantage of tonight as the forecast is cloud and showers for the next 5 or 6 days

You forgot to mention that it will also be damn cold, good for camera sensors though, will be outside doing something astronomically inclined.

Bugger ... jinxed here in Tinderbox. The afternoon was crystal clear after a clearing storm with the forecast to be clear till at least midnight. Thin high cloud has come far too early and gatecrashed the evening.

I have just now (20 minutes ago☺) arrived at the van in Tabby for my first night sleeping here.
And before I unpack the car I set up the BWM and the Nikon static to get some star trails...the first shot shows there is no clear shot at CSP...I am taking another to get exact South so the observatory lines up.

I would like to take some widefields tonight but I feel rather tired after the 9 hours drive here plus I had to have the car serviced this morning so it had to be at the dealer at 7-15am...anyways I will see if I can find the makings for a cup of tea and see if I can take advantage of this beautiful clear sky here..it seems better than at the house which is odd as the house is higher..I would like to stay up and see how bad the fog is here...anyways the camera clicked off so Good luck to all tonight.
Alex

Thanks Alex
Looks like a long day for you hey
The sky tonight in Sydney is as clear as Ive seen in months , damn cold too around 8 degrees but minimal dew at the moment
I’m imaging M17 at the moment , hope to get 2 or 3 hours worth
I wish my neighbour would turn off those damn exterior lights which are doing absolutely nothing except annoying me !!
Have a good evening

Got a ruff PA for the BWM but it has died...I cant fix it in the dark so I took my star trails with it off...then I decided to see what I could get doing a static capture session...using one of my 50mm lens .2 seconds at 6400 only took 50...so not even two minutes... and it looks promising☺
So got something done ... will set up the main rig tomorrow and screw the roof down on the observatory ... its cold here 12 inside the van☺ I am real tired so an early night
