Saturn/first light with 10" LX200R

Hi guys,
My first attempt at Saturn with the new scope. 300 images @ .125 sec each, Meade LPI. Going to try it with a barlow next, see if I can keep it sharp.

Clear skies,
Shane

Great stuff Shane, stick a barlow in there and give it some scale! Nice work.

Thanks Mike,
think it will stay sharp at that magnification? That's giving me around 830X magnification! On Saturday night when I took that it was a bit windy, so no hope of trying it. See what happens.

Clear skies,
Shane

Don't worry about magnification Shane. Work with Focal Length. In good seeing with your 10" scope, aim for around 6 - 10 meters of focal length (f/25 - f/40). A 2.5 or 4Xpowermate or a 3X televue barlow should do the trick nicely

The LPI is about equivalent to a 6mm eyepiece. So a 2X barlow makes it 3mm. 2500mm FL / 3mm = 833.3333333333 etc
