Astronomical cruise to Hawaii

I was looking in the latest issue of Sky & Telescope (US) and found an ad for an astronomical cruise they are organising, well an agent actually, for August of this year. It is 15 days from LA to Hawaii and back again, one of the optional shore tours is to the summit of Mauna Kea (been there, done that). It is on Princess Lines, which is the same company my wife and I used last year to go to NZ. The ships are very luxurious, stacks of food (a pound a day they reckon), free movies, dancing...just save up for the drinks. Duty free alcohol is about half what we pay! The tour includes lectures on photography, astrophysics etc. I would hope they turn the lights off, so you could see Polaris and Crux at the same time.

So if you want the "ultimate" in astro holidays, and it wont take much to convince your other half, you might like to have a look. I would love to go, but my wife's daughter is doing her last year at high school and it would be too disrupting to her schedule.....

I had a look on the net and they don't appear to have any details...if I remember, I will bring the mag into work and add a link to the thread as it is pretty hard to get this magazine in Oz.
