It likely is the right size for the 80AH battery which is also on Special in the same sale. Pass years they featured a 40AH battery, which I have, and it has proven to be a very good astronomy battery. The 80AH will be heavier for sure.

Better go and see if they have one here in Kilmore, my old battery box is very tired. I could modify that pretty easily to house my power supply and a small battery.

Cheers Rob, picked one up this morning. Fits my 80AH deep cycle comfortably.

Also picked up the 160W solar panels they had on offer as well.

Oooooh. Thanks for pointing that out Glen. My battery needs replacing right when we've got a forecast for a few clear nights. Looks like I'm making a trip out to Aldi this afternoon. Hopefully they still have some in stock.

Got one! Only had to go to three stores and spend half a day getting one, but still, got one! Thanks again for the heads-up Glen.

Well you could have gone to any battery supplier and got what you wanted at the same price and size.
They have heaps of suitable boxes and batteries to suit.

Pretty hard to get a deep cycle 80AH AGM for $179 normally though Leon?

Thanks for the heads up, I picked up the box + battery yesterday and tried it out last night. It ran my full setup all night (mount, laptop, heaters, robofocus, cooled camera etc) from dusk till dawn and still had charge left. The box has some useful outputs. A bit of a steal that this price.
