They are identical Mick. The Bintel one has a Bintel sticker on it though! The GS 12" 'Deluxe' has the works: cooling fan, Crayford focuser, Matt Black inside the tube, BK7 glass.

Yes the round bearings come off. They are held on with only 2 screws (nuts and Philips head bolts actually), and easy to get off!

Which EQ mount will you be using? I was wondering myself which EQ mount would hold the 12".

Ken, a friend of mine has a 12" on a Skywatcher eq6 and with extra counterweights takes the tube without any trouble at all.

Slice, the 10" is fine, the dob tube isn't for me, a friend of mine is just getting into astronomy and were looking at putting the tube on an eq mount for him. The trouble is it looks like you cannot buy a tube assembly on it's own you have to buy the mount as well.
I never really used the 10" because l found the meade not long after l bought it but since l've set it up l must say that the views are really quite good and the eq6 is a very solid mount maybe if l had of used it a bit more l never would of bought the meade.

Sorry Mick I thought it was for you.

You can buy the whole scope or just the mirror.
