Comet 46P/Wirtanen and Pleiades

Hi All

Managed to sneak out and grab a bit of time under some nice unpolluted skies about an hour north of Adelaide. Only got to play for an hour or so as it was Sunday and I had work today.

Had to wait for some heavy cloud to clear but the wait was worth it.

Im pretty happy with the way it turned out, this is my first really comet hunt.

6x90sec subs
2x90sec darks
Canon 550D @ about 135mm
SW Star Adventure
Stacked in DSS and edited in PS

Regards
Chris

Nice grab, Chris!

The window of opportunity for this conjunction was very small as the comet is moving across the sky so fast. I managed to view & sketch the pair on Sunday too, well Monday morning... . No good from home as my home's location meant viewing the pair over the Sydney CBD. Jad to go to the coastal cliffs to avoid as much of the city lights as I could. Made a big difference too.

Alex.
