Southern Sky widefield w/Canon 400D

Whilst rock climbing in the heart of the Southern Grampians last weekend sneaked in a 30 second widefield with my 400D and just arrived 17-70 Sigma DC lens.

30 seconds at ISO1600, lens set at 17mm, f/2.8 (equiv 27mm), adjusted in curves and slight colour adjustment to bring out the reds and blues and noise reduced.

Defenitely encouraging for next weekend's new moon astrophotography trip!

Excellent image for only 30 seconds!

But I agree with Bert, it's almost completely purple?
