Window shopping

Most of you live in a city so it would be no big deal but for a hermit it is a bit of a spin for me when I go to the city .. Went into Sydney today and did the rounds of the camera shops and looked at all the cameras and lens ... mmm $15,000 for a 400mm was the pricey one but so good to see these things in the flesh as it were.. last couple of times I was a little rushed but took my time and looked around at the bargain shops etc. very interesting. One camera shop I priced a 400d and bought my 70/300mm lens (8 weeks or so ago) was not there and there seemed to be a few shops available for lease. Maybe tomorow a trip on the ferries and enjoy the harbour again. Came back on the rush hour train I could not handle that day in day out everyone looked so sad and distant. I was the only hippy look alike as far as I could see . Might even take up a spot and sell some drawings just for the thrill of doing it... its something I have always wanted to do should have brought the guitar and a hat as well

Some people love that rushed city life, put them up here in the country and it's a whole new world that they never new about. Your going to have to do a lot of busking Alex to get that $15,000 lens.

While perhaps not such a city outsider as yourself Alex (live in the outer suburbs with bush around, work near the city) I can relate to the experience of window shopping and actually being able to see these things in the flesh. I love it.

I like window shopping when the shops are shut too, in the evening/night. I was just saying to my partner the other day when we were walking out of a large shopping centre in the suburbs as it was about to shut after late night shopping: Wouldn't it be nice if they kept the malls open and unlocked so you could browse around all the shop windows in peace.

Of course they can't because of the idiots out there who vandalise etc and you'd probably get mugged ya self.

I know what you mean about the crowds of sad and distant/vacant looking people. One day everyone will realise it's not a good way to live life - working for nothing but paying the bills, working in confined offices and going home depressed like that.

Roger.

Your are right but I think I can beat the guy in a foot race

Rogerg why worry about paying the bills anyways, you have their money in effect.. they should be the ones who do the worrying.

A rich man pays himself first a poor man pays himself last so make your life the way you want it and hang the rest... why did it take fifty years to figure something so simple I ask myself

I wonder how much closer the $15,000 400mm gets over my $200 400mm scope? And I bet it cant get those nice additional colours mine gets .
The good news found a nice little 200mm for only $225 that should make my mate with the nikon d50 happy, but there is still about a weeks negotiating to knock $20 off the price .
