Jupiter 2nd Feb 2007

Hi Guys,

Jumped out of bed at 5.30am, thinking I had missed an imaging session. Lucky everything lined up and within 5mins of getting outside, the dob driver was tracking nicely.

Took three vids, 1 in optimized colour and two in raw. The raw were actually after 6am local time.

Very quiet on this side, and I have seemed to have missed any of the STrD disturbances.

Well, just like last year, i was out of the blocks, mike had cloud, and we were then hit by Rob and Dennis awesome images......then it was Mikes turn.......Will History repeat itself???

That's a goodun Dave.

You can see the progressive improvement in the images with each little increase in latitude.

Would be an interesting exercise to do a build-up mosaic and have them all lined up in one image showing how it improved from early in the season to opposition.

thanks mike,

well this will be the last jupiter season with the current setup, so i am keen to see what can be squeezed out of a 10", actively cooled, tracking scope with a toucam.

Then, i look at APERTURE, camera, computer controlled focussing, computer controlled collimation etc etc
