Does anyone recognise this Refractor on Ebay?

Hi All,

Found this classic telescope about 30 years old on Ebay. Am bidding on it. I wonder if anyone could identify it. ~4" F6

Item number: 120083096258

Psst, your not supposed to let people on an astronomy web site know that there is astronomy equipment up for grabs on ebay, the price might just start going up .

Doh! Well I count on the good will, kindness and trust of our community members.
Also I dont want to pay this guy less than what his scope might be worth.
Regards.

Fahim,
This is obviously a home made instrument (probably made from parts of a large binoculars. Perhaps you should ask vendor for more details).
It may be worth going for it, it may be better than most of Tasco-style telescopes on the market today (with plastic lenses etc).
Good luck and do not count on kindness and trust of people, this forum is visited by all sorts ...

If I win it it would be nice, I have never used a Refractor (unless you count binos and my finder scope) and I just feel like i should own one at least.
Also I like old scopes, I watch so many vintage scopes being sold in the US and wish I could get my hands on one without all the excessive shipping costs. Some thing about the classics and home made vintage stuff is really inspiring to me. A 4" F5 is would not be a bad start.

Belonged originally to a gentlemen who lived in Lorne Victoria, who had it custom made. No contact details unfortunately.
One of the accessories (looks like a pice of a binocoular) shown in the add has "Sportsvue 7 x 50 Triple Tested Coated Optics" written on it. Does that help anyone identify it.
