Thought I'd post a few images from the past few days. Planet season is just about over as they are getting smaller and setting earlier and will soon be gone until next year or 2020 in Mars' case.
Images from Sunday taken with a 127mm f7.5 NG triplet, HEQ5, 2.5X Powermate and ZWO290mc. Tonights Mars with an 250mm f5 Newt, EQ6 2.5X Powermate and ZWO290mc.
Thanks Ross,
The surface brightness of Saturn as it moves further away makes it difficult to capture true colour detail, though more aperture would help. Maybe with RGB, Saturns images may show more colour, but I certainly captured better colour when she was closer to opposition a few months ago with OSC.
Mars is still quite bright but only 2/3 of its size when at opposition, now 16". Next opposition in Oct. 2020 will still be a reasonable size at 22.6", hope there wont be any dust storm to spoil the view then.
