Great night

For a night that was supposed to be 100% cloud cover, this would have to be one of the clearest skies I’ve had since taking up this hobby 6 months ago.

Yesterday I did a lot of reading on sequence generator pro so tonight I have used the framing and mosaic tool for the first time, I’ve entered in a lot more of my settings too so I am now plate solving, dithering and I have plugged in two targets into the one sequence.

When I wake up I the morning I will hopefully have 70x5 min subs of Helix and about 50x5min subs of horsehead to add to my collection. So far it all seems to be working well. I just went out to watch it do a pier flip which went off without a hitch. The guiding isn’t quite as good when SGP is in control but I think it’s still good enough for 5 min subs. Really impressed with how much SGP can do by itself.

Sounds like you're really getting a handle on things Gavin. Well done

Looking forward to seeing the fruits of your labour.

How good was last night Gavin, no clouds very little wind. There's an app on both apple and android called Fotocast it can tell me the cloud cover, wind, rain. Also there's SkippySky on the net which Ryan got me onto, both give excellent info.

Thanks Karl just downloaded fotocast. I use skycaster, accuweather and dso-browser.com. Sometimes all 3 give different forecast though. DSO-browser is awesome.

My new setup on SGP worked brilliantly, it took care of my guiding, framing, plate solving, etc perfectly. I got it to do a pier flip and change targets halfway through the night. Got a lot of good subs.

Nah I only learnt that stuff yesterday Alex. It’s actually pretty straight forward with SGP you just fill in the spaces
