Lagoon with PixInsight

I’ve had almost zero clear sky for over a week now but at least that has given me more chances to practice with PixInsight. I’ve now figured out how to calibrate, align and integrate instead of using DSS. Takes a bit longer but works much better for me.

Finally I have my darks, flats and bias working so I’ve got rid of the horrible noise that all of my photos have had in the past. Just wish I had better sky to actually get some good data to go with those calibration frames.

I did manage to get a few subs of the lagoon and there’s a big difference to my previous shots which were covered in noise despite being 5 or 6 hours worth. This ones only about 10 x 45 sec subs.

Cropped and uncropped version.

Yes a wonderful image and you should be very proud of all you have achieved.
Print it out frame it and hang it where others can enjoy its beauty.
