McNaughty Boys
I couldn't resist getting this pic of my boys Jake & Harry comet McNaught searching!
Jake got excited when he spotted Venus as he thought it was the Comet
(he is a terrific actor
)
Harry was just busy trying to hold up the 20x80's
and we still didn't see it due to one lousy piece of cloud right over the Comet
Oh well, there's always tomorrow night, and Friday night etc . . .
After we gave up on McNaught we all did the tour of the favourites thru the 12" Dob
and the boys also loved using the Pentax XW7
It's great sharing this hobby with my boys!

LOL @ Jake.
Poor Harry, all he'll see with those binos will be his toes.
The doggies need jackets with reflective tape on it so you don't trip over them at night.

Nice pic Ken,
It was heavy cloud but i could see it from my place which is just up the road from you really, and i was looking toward Snake valley, that's a shame as it was a great sight.
Cheers Leon

Did you see me waving, Leon?
The cloud dispersed from here right after the comet went below the horizon and we had a great time with the 12". Cloudy again now though, but we had a ball

Well thats about as wide apart as you could get Ken, but both are great professions.
If Jake becomes a great player we'll have to poach him over to Manly
Cheers

I agree with that 100%, always tripping over our dog, who loves to laydown right at your feet whilst observing. Was even worse when I had the observatory....

Our cat thinks it is great fun when I am outside, she usually sits near the eyepiece box, maybe she learnt after the very first night I got the scope out. I was walking down the back stairs carrying the tube when I heard this unearthly "reow!" My wife and daughter came running outside "was Cuddles in a fight with THAT other cat again?" "No, I stood on her!" She had sprawled out at the base of the steps. I now turn the back lights on when setting up.
Maybe the dog was waiting for Sirius (the Dog star) to come out
