Lagoon & Trifid Nebulae Widefield

Hey all,

I had some time at the end of imaging Rho Oph a couple of weeks ago so I grabbed a few frames of this lovely region of sky. Expected it to be throwaway data just to develop my Pixinsight skills but it came out nicely.

Had some issues dealing with the star fringing. I'm slowly but surely getting the hang of star masks in Pixinsight. More slow than sure though

Acquisition details:
Nikon D610
Nikkor 180mm f/2.8 ED AI-s
18*90" @ f/4 ISO2000
Skywatcher Star Adventurer

That’s very good Nathan. I like the Star Adventure Mount. I recently purchased one as well for some portable wide field imaging.

It's a great portable mount that's for sure. I originally bought it to build up experience before I drop some cash on a serious AP rig but I don't think I'll be getting rid of it anytime soon.

Sharp, nice colours. Great image Nathan. Stick with the PI. It's well worth the effort.
