Meade Autostar Hand Controller

I’ve just dusted off my 2005 model LX200 GPS.
It appears that the hand controller is about to shuffle off this mortal coil.

Does anyone know if the current Autostar controller is compatible with my old model LX200. They are on the Meade website for about US160.

Alternatively for anyone seeing this post in the Hobart area who has a current/late model Meade with an Autostar, would it be possible for me to pop around and test it on my old scope?

If you have an LX200GPS/ACF then you can only use an AutostarII handbox.
The older 497 Autostar or Audiostars are totally different beasties.

Have you considered ugrading to a wifi adapter (https://www.meade.com/stella-wifi-adapter.html)?

They aren't cheap but may not cost much more than a new handbox.

According to the website they aren't compatible with scopes that use Autostar #494.
