SBIG ST-5 reduced price

Hi All,
For sale, now asking $500.00 for my ST-5 Camera (Pixcell 255) in perfect condition with a carry case + Instruction manual and software, this camera has the same Specs. as the SBIG ST-237 except for the chip size. It is an excellent guider or Imager.

St-5

I am looking for a more sensitive guidecam than the one I have now - a Meade LPI. How would the ST-5 compare with the Meade DSI for example in sensitivity? Can the ST-5 drive a mount via the autoguider port directly? What format is the autoguiding signal?

Is it serial/parallel/usb for imaging data? What power requirements?

St-5

Hi JohnH,
The ST-5 would be much more senistive than the MEADE LPI, (will do Mag. 14 star in 1 Sec.) It is a cooled chip Camera, and can take the chip temp. down some 50 Deg. below ambient, It will operate directly into the RJ-11 CCD port of any MEADE , Celestron Ultima, or Losmandy scope, also others (it was designed for this purpose) in addition to Imaging, I can send you more details (copied from handbook) if required (your E-Mail address required) but I would suggest you look at http://www.company7.com/sbig/products/st5c.html , which gives all the Specs. on this camera.

regards...........Jim
