Eyepiece view of Orion Neb

Handheld shot of the Great Orion Nebula through eyepiece: 30 mm ultra-wide in 10" f/4.7 Dob. Snapped with Nikon D3300.

This is poor astrophotography but a fair representation of what one can see through the eyepiece.

Nicely done.
How did you hold the camera ? Or did you attach it to the eyepiece ?
And the exposure time cannot be longer than a second, unless you have a tracker.

Just handheld with DX lens image stabilisation and AF turned on. Camera set to auto no-flash, pointed at the nebula for light metering then repositioned as squarely on the EP as I could manage. So as crude & novice as it gets. Exposure is probably around 1/20 sec at ISO 6400.

That is terrific Steve.
More so because your effort will have others trying.
I started over a decade ago holding a two meg camera up to the EP and getting a result on the Moon..I was so happy..it was the start..
