Fully Pimped? Yep!
This mount is about one year old, is in top condition, and is fitted with:
- Accessory Handle. Use this to move the mount, instead of pushing and pulling on the scope. Much better for the scope, and the rubber handle keeps those fingers from contacting freezing metal.
- Nexus II. This a fabulous electronic setting circle set up. Using Sky Safari on your ipad or tablet, perform a two star alignment, and you have a highly accurate object locating capability. It is impressive, and so is Sky Safari!
- Train-N-Track. This controls altitude and azimuth movement of the scope, via stepper motors in lieu of the standard manual method. The device allows fast movement of the scope via the buttons, and very fine movement via the knobs to permit tracking. With practice, it is very easy to track objects, even with small FOV eyepieces at high magnification. The normal mount friction clutches still permit movement of the mount at any time via the accessory handle, without loss of Nexus II alignment. I have a lithium polymer battery attached to this, because it is more convenient. The original NiCad battery pack and lead is included.
That's it! I have used the Vixen with scopes up to a 120mm Sky Watcher refractor ( 5+kg) without any issues. Manuals are included!
Replacement cost for the mount is in excess of $1,000.00. Selling for $550.00, pick up. Buyer will need to cover freight, if it is necessary.
