I captured this area at the 2016 Qld Astrofest last year.
I won best Nebula photo with a unmodified DLSR in the AAQ photo comp last year and made its way into the clubs 2017 calendar. It was just featured in the AAQ news letter this month as well. I have not posted the image on IceInSpace before. Quite a stunning image
Taken on a 254mm f3.9 Orion Astrograph with a unmodified Canon 600D,
(A good Coma corrector was used)
Skywatcher NEQ6 pro mount, 80mm guide scope with Orion starshoot II CCD guider.
Images acquired with MaximDL and guiding using PHD 2
38 x 8min exposures at ISO800
Processed in MaximDL, Startools, and Photoshop CS3
