Thanks Mick ,the light polution in Bankstown really sucks! being new to imageing I found out very quickly that theres a huge learnig curve and you realy dont know anything about mounts till you have to stick a camera on them, but you know, you still have little bits of joy when something half decent comes up on screen!
Man that was weird, I was just replying to Mick and up popped David and Paul ! thanks guys, Ive bought aCFW6 filter wheel from Gary Beal
so hopefully colour wont be far behind! If I ever work out how to use it!
Hi Paul ,I love galaxies too ! maybe the fact that there so far away and so big and we see them at all " Man Im starting to hang out for a big telescope again !
Dark skies at Magellan Observatory " host Zane Hammond" great guy and dark skies ! out at Lake Bathurst 30km out of Goulburn he has a NGT 18 set up in a Dome Observatory . 12"LX200 ,an a tone of other stuff for imageing . Google his site .
Thats a great idea ! you stay at a farm house full amenities ! prices are great " 85.00 for two people per night 15.00 for each extra person then free for the extra people after that ! so It wont cost much at all if theres a few of us going down . just bring food for the barbecue !
You would have a ball.
Maybe on the other side of winter we could make some plans...meet up on the Saturday, a bit of socialising, and a bit of serious work on the scopes? I'd be keen. Might even drag the family along.
