Superb Fighting Dragons image

One of our most popular imaging targets in the southern skies, this is probably the finest image I have seen of this area.
It is flawlessly rendered and shows all three colours produced by the narrow band emission line filters (SII Ha OIII) beautifully.

115hr exposure taken from a World Class observing location near the Atacama desert

The Fighting Dragons of Ara

...and an equally superb Running Chicken

Enjoy

Mike

Splendid images, thank you for sharing your find Mike

When looking at these images, I am actually quite happy with what my 4" produces from inner city in humid Brisbane and with much less exposure

Nice image, but I'd want better from the finest location in the world...I've measured sub-2" seeing on a number of occasions this winter from right here in inner Brisvegas. Narrowband of course, RGB is futile

Not sure what their general seeing conditions are like (couldn't see it referenced anywhere?) but I an sure it is better than any of ours....I'd just like to have so much clear sky that I could manage to collect 115hrs of usable exposure, in just two months.....and that may not have been the only object being imaged over that time either?!

The three images they have released so far are to me superb in every aspect.

Agree 100%. These images are something to aspire to, for me anyway. And I can only dream of over 100 hours of exposure dedicated to just one target... But at the same time I find it encouraging that what can be achieved from our location can be somehow comparable, in some aspects at least
