Close call

Had a fire wipe out a bush reserve that borders my parents house in Perth yesterday. My Mum and brother were preparing Christmas eve dinner when the fire hit mid afternoon, I didn't get there until after it was contained but they couldn't believe how intense and quickly it spread and it looked pretty dodgy for a while with houses in danger but the Fire's with the help of 4 water helicopters got it under control .Power was cut off for the rest afternoon and all the neighbors rallied to help with the dinner by wiping up a weber etc and gathered around for beers/wine. It was great to see out of some adversity good community spirit shine through one of our neigbors took some incrediable images but havent got them yet but Ive attached a couple of pics , my parents house is at the back of the one where the red 4WD is parked .

A fire that close to so many houses would have been quite scary!

Glad to hear that they got it under control and everything turned out ok!

I second that Micko.

Good on yer Firey's, and a peaceful holiday wish to all the emergency services wherever they are.

A bit too close for comfort that one. Glad to see it all ended well and was contained quickly.

Cheers
