Saturn too washed out

hi everyone

i have been out of the imaging loop for a while now.
i decided to image saturn and i feel i was asking too much of my equipment.
this was taken with CPC 9.25 and grasshopper3 mono.
the LRGB were taken at F35 using televue 3.5 barlow.

stacking was done using autostakkert .
this is a complitaion of RGB only. the L channel was not too great.
I have also included the R channel after some heavy waveletting...

i just cant seem to get fine details and the colours just seem washed out.
can anyone give me any tips? I appreciate any input.

regards John

Looks pretty good to me, much better than my recent efforts. All I know about processing planets is you need good data aka good seeing, if there is no detail you won't get more through processing. I think Saturn looks better flipped 180 deg. though.

Is there a auto colour correction feature in AS? I use it regularly in Registax and found it to be an excellent feature.
Also, try and under-expose your videos as the final stacked image will always be a bit brighter.

These were what I seem to always have issues with.
I am using Meade Rgb filters and I am. It sure they perform very well.
All the channels seem to be almost equally bright which is why I believe the resulting image almost seems greyscale.

Also tracking on a fork mount is not reliable. The planet tends to migrate quite a bit.

And there was quite a bit of high altitude turbulence despite it being perfectly calm at ground level.

Also my final images never seem true to life. They seem somewhat plastic.
I just need a little help to fine tune my techniques.

So I appreciate everyone's help.

John.

Looks like seeing was ho-hum.

If there were more details to be had, you'd see hints of it already...you can see the Encke gap there, so it's a good start
