NGC5139 - Omega Centauri

Here's one of the filler shots from the SPSP. I did 19x5min on it with the same rig. G11/FSQ/QHY8. Same processing in PI. Seeing on Saturday wasn't as good as beginning of the week but still very decent.

Hint of IFN in the full field. I guess to get all that stuff you really need to go very long on the background. Couple of interesting galaxies in the back field as well.

Original 2xdrz file [6080x4032 - 21MB]
1:1 version [3040x2016 - 7MB]
cropped HD version [2353x1627 -3.5MB ]
Full field HD version [1920x1273 - 3.2MB]

Enjoy the views.

Marc,

The 1:1 shot is superb. Beautiful fine details and colours. Very nicely processed.

That's really nice Marc!
There is some nice IFN showing up in the wider field but I do prefer the crop

Thanks Colin. Yeah there's some brown stuff around. Very faint and noisy still. I like the wide field because of all the background faint fuzzies that I hadn't noticed before. Worth revisiting and going longer subs to bring out all that some other time.

That's quite exquisite Marc. Beautifully sharp with great star colours and a nice background field.

What a wonderful field, Marc, showing Omega in beautiful context. The uncropped version in particular is truly excellent. Bravo!

Dang that's good. Big fan of the widefield shot. Star colours are great, everything is nice and tight and faint fuzzies abound. it's such a beautiful sight in an eyepiece and you have captured it perfectly.

Top job!

Thanks Dave. The core has some depth and about the right luminosity. True it's a corker in an eyepiece.
