Carl Sagan's Vision of Mars
Visions of Mars is a message from our world to future human inhabitants on Mars, which will launch on its way to the Red Planet in 2007 aboard the spacecraft Phoenix. Along with personal messages from leading space visionaries of our time, the message will include a priceless collection of Mars literature and art, and a list of hundreds of thousands of names of space enthusiasts from around the world. The entire collection will be encoded on a mini-DVD provided by The Planetary Society, which will be affixed to the spacecraft.

In a recent epsiode of Star Trek: Enterprise, our heroes in a shuttle craft made a very low flyover of a clearly readable "Carl Sagan Memorial" on Mars.

Sagan's book 'The demon haunted world' is one of his great books that rationalise things very well. He had many that engaged the reader easily.

I agree. Dr Sagan was a great "yuman", who had a particular connection with the common man, and could relate to him better than most scientific minds through wonderful tools such as "Cosmos". I miss him. He sparked an interest in our family for things other than those of the Earth.

It's hard to believe that it's been ten years, the world is a lot poorer as a result of his passing.

He is missed
