Hope he injects some of his billions into it then, considering under Oh-Bumma, NASA just about ceased to exist.

Sounds a bit ambitious, more likely it'll be after his second term and well into Ivankas first

I hope it's his footsteps on Mars, on a non-return trip.

I'll go one way, no problem. As for his second term, do we need to nail him to a cross first? pretty please.

Lol.
I see many other great projects to come such as project MWB (Milky Way Barrier). No it's not a wall it's a "Barrier" made of "Trump Galactic Bands" a material only found on Mars that will deflect Andromedia back into the abyss and save all humanity from a spectacular collision.
I don't know if Trump getting involved in space programs is a good thing or bad thing. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Whilst it's very unlikely to actually occur, the timeframe isn't all that much less than Kennedy gave NASA in the 60s to put a man on the moon.
If you gave NASA the appropriate funding, they'd probably come close to doing it. You'd have to have astronauts who accept that they will not return to earth though, and that doesn't mean selecting someone with the best youtube video.

Even a return trip would not be technically challenging, just
hideously expensive.

Whether Trump says it or someone else I think its a bad idea for now. I don't believe we are technologically advanced yet enough. Far more productive to send robots and space craft around our solar system.
