i just became a father!!!

at work at the moment...

I just got a call from cheryl to tell me that i am now the proud father of 16 platy fry.... its pretty exciting really. the mother has been fussing about all over the place for a few days now trying to find a place to give birth and chasing the other fish around the tank, so she must have done so last night..

I'll have to take pics and post em for you all

unfortunately when trying to seperate the babies so they dont become food the tank broke... cheryls rushing out to get a new one now.

Congrats Cheryl & David

Can I bring my fish around to get procreation lessons from your lot? Ours just float there and eat - nothing else.

You have a 240v power socket in the tank. Isn't that dangerous?

Nearly.... a female platy will usually come from the store pre-fertilised by half the dude platys in the store tank. Then a year later if conditions are good she'll decide to pop em out.....
I had a platy do this once, very cool!
