LOL!! Got to love the old stuff. I really want to see the very first episode where Dr Smith steals aboard Jupiter II and it all goes haywire. Haven't seen it in decades.
I'm nearly through the whole series of "It's About Time" after not seeing it for nearly 40 years.

I'd love to watch "Lost Is Space" from the beginning.
Don't really recall watching it much as a kid growing up in the UK.
But I've really enjoyed watching a few episodes as an adult.
Very funny

It was a classic series, never missed a show when I was a kid.
The movie that came out a few years back wasn't too bad either.
cheers

I remember watching the first episode of Lost in Space on cable a few years ago. Terrific stuff!
Have you seen the Disney movie BUGS, I think that was the last piece that "Dr Smith" performed in.
I'm working my way through the first season of the Beverly Hillbillies at the moment. They didn't even have the familiar theme song at that stage. Grannie is my hero and I want to be just like her when I'm old and wrinkly.

Speaking of the Hillbillies, there was a classic couple of movies made in the 60's about the adventures of Ma & Pa Kettle and their 10 kids. I dont know how they would stand up today but they had us kids rolling in the aisles forty years ago.
Cheers

On an almost related topic.... I was a big fan of Battlestar Galactica. Bought the original series on DVD, and it's still fun. But it's amazing just how many times they can use the same piece of footage, over and over again.
Plus, IMHO, the new version rocks. Very similar to Space: Above and Beyond, if anyone remembers that.
Then we could go back to my teenage years.... Anyone else remember Battle of the Planets? Or the even more obscure (but my all time fave) Star Blazers? Ahhh... the memories
Clear skies,
Shane

Ma and Pa Kettle! Haven't seen them since I was little. It's a pity they don't play these oldies anymore.

I've just finished season 2 of the new series of Battlestar and have seen episodes 1,2 & 3 of season 3. What a fantastic production. The best sci-fi on at the moment by a long shot. I liked the original series but it was a bit cheesy - and it's definitely taken a LEAP forward with the new version. Richard Hatch should have had production control of the original I reckon - then it would have been a classic.

I haven't got Lost In Space yet (sometimes I get confused though ), but I finished Battlestar toward the end of last year. Earlier this year I finished Voyager, the year before finished Next Gen. Currently one episode of second series of Star Trek, only third series left on that one. Have all of DS9, but haven't started (not as good as the "others" though). Then I still have Enterprise, but only have series one at the moment. Also have Star Gate, yet to get series 9. With the fantastic TV at the moment I expect to get through quite a few episodes!
Last week I looked through the Green Guide and noted about 5 hours of worthwhile TV for the whole week, don't really look forward to all the "new hit US comedies" or the "return of last years hit" that seem to pollute the air waves over the Christmas period! I think the TV programmers go away for the holidays or they are just brain dead and don't watch TV.

5 Hours I'd be lucky to find 1/2 hour of watchable TV, but then I only have 'free to air' TV. I don't like 'comedy' where I'm expected to laugh on cue.
If something is funny in its own right I'll laugh, else I'll pass.
And one CSI after another after another is one CSI tooo many.
cheers,
Doug

Trevor, how it works is that the TV station executives don't really get a lot of say about what rubbish shows they have to put on.
The US distributors sell 'Package Deals'. If a station, say, Channel 9, wants the latest TV release of a blockbuster movie, they have to take certain other shows in the deal! Often the execs hate the shows that we hate, but if they want the blockbuster for ratings, they have to take the garbage as well. (and it HAS to be shown).
Believe it or not, Dallas was a flop in the US and was sent over as one of those crappy add ons in a deal for a big movie. But Dallas took off over here and the station made multiple millions in advertising time during the airing of dallas!!!

Boy Ric, you ARE showing your age. I used to go to the Saturday matinee and watch Pa & Ma Kettle - love to see it again. Have you ever heard of them being available on DVD? (wishful thinking ).
We should be starting a new thread.
Jeanette,
How do you know about Pa & Ma Kettle?
