What I've been doing lately

Here are a few images to look at. I've really tried to get back here and put up a few but with Rigil's Tonsil removal and Tony going back to work this is the first chance I've had.

They are all with the 400D but I'm still getting used to all the settings, so I'm relying mostly on auto.

Anyway have a look

They are great shots, Anne-Louise! I like them a lot!

Thanks for posting them, you're very talented and improved all the time.

My girls both had their tonsils out this week and last week! Not fun!

A very nice portfolio Anne-Louise - well done for such a busy Mum! It was good to catch up with you and Tony when we bumped into each other yesterday.

Cheers

Dennis

Thanks guys, I've had lots of disapointments with the camera especially at night but I'm really happy with these ones.

Oh my, both at once? How old are your girls? I would rate the experience to be the worst so far with my children. Even with Rigil in intensive care whem he was born wasn't as traumatic as this experience was. I can't imagin both at once. I really wish Rigil could have been older when it happened but at least I'm not frightened of him stopping breathing every time he sleeps now.

Thanks again for the comments.
Anne-Louise

Wow... TWO children having their tonsils removed at once? In the next week or two it will get better as the pain fades, although it won't seem like it now. Best of luck, wish them well for me.

Tony

Nice shots Anne-Louise. They key thing with your camera is to know it's operation (including the manual settings) inside out. I very quickly realised that often a shot can't wait while you work out how to turn a feature on or off.

Hi Tony/Anne-Louise,

Both our girls were going to get them out at once, but we decided to separate them by a week. Eliza (5.5) had hers out last week and Abbey (2.5) had them out this week. It's been difficult but it's getting better now Abbey isn't nearly as difficult as Eliza was, and she's sleeping much better.

Hope yours recover ok!

Thanks everyone. I've tried really hard to use the camera as mush as possible to get used to it.

One minor set back is the fact that I can't find the manual. I KNOW it was on the table in the week we got it but now?????

Of course you know what I want for christmas.......accessories!

I still can't get out of my mind two at once. They must have been ill a lot. I bet your glad it's nearly over. It's been just 4 weeks and Rigil is finially begining to sound so much better, he was so so nasal. I was so happy to hear it goes away.

Try this link if you can't find it.
It's the 400D manual in .pdf format.

Thanks for that. Every time I've been to Canon's site to get it I've gotten the message 'unknown page'. Now it's safely on my desktop!

Yep I got the same error, so I tracked it down on the U.S site instead.
