Another night to myself! :) What do you do?

Eliza, my 5.5 yr old daughter, is in hospital for the night tonight after having an operation to get her tonsils out this morning. My wife is staying with her.

Played Mr Mum today, doing the school run, taking Abbey to swimming lessons, cleaning the house, dinner, visiting Eliza at hospital, bathtime, bedtime.. same again tomorrow with Abbey at playgroup, school run etc.

So.. Jacob and Abbey are in bed, skies are crud.. maybe I can get to watch Band of Brothers tonight

May as well throw this open to the floor.. what do you do with time to yourself, when it arrives unexpectedly?

1. Take the scope out if weather permits.
2. Surf IceinSpace and a few other favourite sites if not.
3. Watch a DVD (a blokey one...)
3a. Take the bike out for a spin (bit hard with the kids asleep I know!)
4. Read.
5. Sleep.
6. ???

What ever you do... enjoy it!

Al.

Hope the surgery goes well and that recovery is fast!

Since you are looking for something to do...Although a bit late I would have suggested earlier that you could have had my kids over too...

Just a thought...

Poor Kid!

Hope Eliza is recovering okay, Mike. Give her Anna and my love.

Oh! and tell her I said not to swallow any flies in the mean time.

1. Go through your old Astro mags and find a sky tour or article to re-read.
2. Sort your CD's in alphabetical order.
3. Backup your hard drive and defrag.
4. Catch up on some sleep.

I did #4 last night, Jeanette

Thanks for your thoughts about Eliza.. she's well. She came home from hospital this morning, and I think she's enjoying all the icecreams and yoghurts she gets to eat

Next week will be tougher, when Abbey gets her tonsils out.. at least you can reason with Eliza at 5.5yrs old.. Abbey, there's no reasoning with a 2.5yr old.. it will be tough!

Oh I hope Eliza has a speedy recovery Mike.
It's very hard on the whole family when someone's in hospital.

My best wishes to her and also to Abbey for next week.

If you get another night to yourself, I highly recommend a great Aussie movie called "The Dish".

I remember when both Jack and Noah had their tonsils and adenoids out. Not fun at all. Still, just when you think they are never going to improve, the colour comes back into their cheeks, and they want a daddy-rumble!

Spare time. What's that?

Another night to myself tonight.. Abbey had her tonsils out today, so Kate is in hospital with her overnight.

Been busy loading the interview on the site tonight, watched the grand final of the new inventors, and now eating the last of the ice cream I'd better buy some more before Abbey comes home tomorrow as I'm sure she'll want some
