First narrow band - yep.... Eta

Hi first ever tri color narrow band image.
Eta
40x5min Ha
18x5min S
18x5min O
hubble pallet

8" f4 newt, Skywatcher coma corrector, QHY9/filter wheel, baader filters.
A rough bit f processing using only Astroart - not sure how it will look as my monitor needs calibration, and I've never done color narrow band before. Prolly need more sophisticated processing skills than I have.
cheers
Gary

Good effort although it lacks colour in general.

I'd be interested in having a play with your Ha, SII and OIII if you want to one drive or drop box them for download.

Very fine indeed, Gary.

Even on your 200K thumbnail, we can see it's rich in detail and well captured. Looking at the histograms, you can set the zero points for R, G, and B quite a bit higher, giving higher contrast without loss of information. If you do that, and then up the red channel a bit, it is excellent. It can even survive some gentle wavelet sharpening.

It's mirror image reversed.

A very pleasing image. Looking forward to more.

Thanks Bart and Mike,

I was a little reticent to push colour too much - my monitor currently has a color cast that makes it difficult to know how to balance the colours - this will not be a problem in a few days as I am getting a loan of a calibration device.

I have limited software as I only have Astroart which was fine for me when I was doing one shot color, but is not adequate for narrow band. I currently don't have the spare cash for everyone's favourite Pixinsight, so I'll have to just try a few alternative approaches to getting the most out of the data.

After 2 years of equipment issues I'm just glad I now have data to play with !!!

cheers
Gary
