Twinstar 90 mm Mak

We are downsizing, and that means my lovely little 90 mm Mak has to find a new home.

This unit has wonderful pin-sharp optics, and has a built-in flip-mirror, so you can use two different eyepieces, or mount a camera on the straight-through port and an eyepiece on the perpendicular port. Both ports take standard 1 1/4" eyepieces and accessories. It has the original 45 degree erect-image diagonal, so it is also great as a terrestrial spotting scope.

I am offering it with the following accessories:

The original tripod - a bit flimsy, but very light and portable, great when you want a grab'n'go telescope.
An AZ3 mount - MUCH more solid, but not quite as portable.
Mak-to-SCT threaded adapter, so you can fit any standard SCT accessories onto the rear port.
I have replaced the original (frankly, useless!) viewfinder with a red-dot finder.
Home-made solar filter - looks a bit "dodgy", but fits very snugly, and gives nice, safe views of the sun.
I can also include a starter set of a couple of Plossl eyepieces, if required.

How does $250 sound for the lot? Pick up from Ashgrove please - I'm not looking to ship this out.

Hi julianh72,

We will buy this for Outreach, and to loan to people, and can transact straightaway if collection could wait till someone coming and going would kindly bring it to Melbourne (the careful stargazer may use it en route).

Best Regards
Team
