Keyser Söze

This was my first image taken with my new gear. It is the first time I ever used a refractor, and the first time shooting with a monochrome camera.
This was taken from my backyard in Aldgate, South Australia on Xmas Eve... I was looking for Santa!

Mount: Paramount MX+
Telescope: Takahashi FSQ 106 ED
Camera: ZWO ASI 1600 MM Cool
Filters: ZWO LRGB and Ha
HaLRGB 240:60:60:60:60
Processed in CCD Stacks and Photoshop

Yeah... my layer alignment still needs some work.

That looks really good Jarrod, you have a lot of detail and dynamic range in the image. It has bit of a pinky flavour to it but not too distracting.

You will enjoy the benefits of the ASI1600 I'm sure and get heaps of excellent images (especially behind a Tak).

Cheers
Bill

Thanks Russell,

The only reason is that I've only been doing monochrome for one month. Cheers for that.

Thanks for the comments, guys. The other group have so much experience... I may put a toe in the water there! I'll rebalance the colours a bit and flick that over to the Deep Sky section!
