DIY Linux Image Preprocessing script.

I don't know wether this belongs here or in the software section. DIY image processing multi-function utility for Linux.

The manual explains the various modes of operation FAICS Manual.

Download FAICS - free (linux) astronomical image calibration and stacking.

Run from extracted folder with RUNFAICS executable or a terminal with;

$ ./faics

If required, first set faics permissions

$ chmod +x faics

Another major project. Curiosity, mainly...

EDIT: Eta Carina unmodded D3300 NEF (submitted for processing by an IIS member some time ago). FAICS and StarTools (scientific color module)

Fuji X-Trans support - missed that one - fixed bug - all working now.

EDIT: This provides support for my old XPro1 full spectrum NIR 720nm files.

Fixed bug where master dark was created when darks not selected. No affect on processing. FAICS doesn't look for frame types, it looks for the selections entered at set-up and assumes the frames have been loaded.

Link to latest FAICS version

Latest FAICS

FAICS Manual v3

Links are generic - no version number - easier to administrate

thanks very much for posting this Rowland. I don't have any Linux systems at present, but will set something up in the new year to give it a run - really interesting to have look under the hood at this type of software. regards Ray

Thanks Ray. It has some useful features but some are near impossible to implement with the tools in use. Need to look further afield.
