As an aside, I looked up 'Alderaan' (Princess Leia's supposed birthplace) to see if it had any basis in astronomy, and it turns out there is an asterism that takes in the two brightest stars in Gemini and Canis Minor.

I don't know who decides what is and isn't an asterism, or what actual use they serve other than for starhopping or navigation, but here it is - Alderaan.
