I'm wondering how much weight the GOTO mount will hold. This is what I'm looking for, I'm wondering whether I can fit my f/9 Skywatcher 100ED on it. If it can take the weight, I'd seriously consider it.

Mount capacity

I won't split the package at present so will not sell the mount sep.
The SW Star Explorer goto will handle 5kg. It will handle an ED80 which is
lighter than the 102/500 but as for an ED100,I think that is really pushing it.
Besides,if you start hanging guide scopes, cooled CCD cameras, etc,
as well,that is a no-no.
That said,I have successfully used a Prostar CCD for moon and planetary with the outfit.

I have an ED80, an ED100 and really do need a portable mount (and a short tube 100 wouldn't be a bad idea to boot either).
The ED100 weighs only 3.5 kgs OTA, I'm just hoping it would actually work.

I'm wondering how much would it be approx. to post to Tasmania? Also can the mount fit in the carry bag?
