Balancing a RC scope.

i am looking to call on the collective wisdom of IIS. the weight distribution of my scope is a little asymmetrical so i can never get perfect balance in all positions at once. i am looking to put some sort of counterweight, probably at the secondary end of the scope but i cant find anything that would do the job. Anyone had any experience and luck with this type of balancing ?

Yes i do. I used to improve the balance of my RC08 by sliding a solid vixen puck onto the secondary end of the bottom mounting rail. I will find a link to the item i used.

Edit: Here is the info on the item i used: Guan Sheng special dovetail mount adaptor FF561, A$29, from Andrews Comms. You can bolt on more weight if you need it. It's a solid billet of aluminium. if you use a Losmandy wide bar on the scope you could probably find something similiar or adapt it.

for some reason that takes me to the andrews home page, not the image ... weird. i get what you are talking about, however, my dovetail bar doesnt extend past the end of the versa plate. it is a truss design (i should have mentioned that) pictures linked below

The guide scope on top isn't far enough forward?

I went looking for photos of my setup, no luck.
Got a similar one, vc-200 on a side by side siting on an eq6.
The guider is way forward. Most weight is in the lens.

Here's my solution: Losmandy DUP slid into the versaplate plus a few farpoint counterweights attached to 2 dovetail adaptors from Bintel.

I had this on the front of mine for a while.

I'm sure a forward mounted guide scope fixed it.
