Talking Tasmanian Astronomer breaks drought.

Yes it's true. Within days of taking possesion of my new LX90 the clouds started rolling in after the dryest march on record. Last night was the first clear night since the LX arrived so I rolled the LX outside for the first time and after some confusion managed to get the goto going to. Jupiter, Saturn, and Tucanae were the most impressive....Within hours the clouds had rolled back in and it was raining and has continued for most of today...... I wonder if the government will pay me for that....it's gotta be cheaper than cloud seeding....... Now for some additional EP's.

Glad you have been able to help the farmers in Tassie get some needed water...

I have read in another forum about the "moiston" and how attractive astronomy gear is to "moistons"...

I guess you are helping to prove this scientific fact...

Yeah, got the Lx out again tonight just to prove it wasn't a fluke. The sky had cleared around dusk and not a cloud to be seen. The sky was clean from the rain but the seeing was aweful due to wind. Within 1 hour of putting the LX out it had clouded over again. I think I've got this rainmaking thing down to a fine art.

I reckon the Hydro should pay you just to get out there and stay out there instead of cloud seeding as in days gone by.
