Ordinary Weather

Just checked the weather forecast...

Quote:
Forecast for Wednesday
Isolated showers with possible snowfalls above about 900m in the evening or
overnight. Chance thunder or small hail. Becoming colder with a strong west to southwest change.
That's me for Oberon (1100m altitude).

What's worse is tomorrow I'm working 48 metres up a tower in the open! ...and the climactic average wind speed in Oberon is 4 times what it is at Mascot airport just for comparison...

Al.

Ordinary barely describes the weather over here in the west. We've had high level thin cloud (or worse) for pretty much 4 weeks. Except the transit - amazingly that morning (not whole day) was clear.

The last time I did any imaging was last new moon - since then it's been pretty much a wipe out.

Not happy ... this new moon is quickly going to pass by at this rate...

Roger.

The SE Qld report for the day around Hervey Bay is equally bizzare, severe electrical storm and over an inch of rain at 7.10 am this morning, northerely gales to 30 knots through the day and sticky as it gets with the barometer at 994 m.bars.

Its getting weird everywhere!!

Update -we just got slammed again from the south west at 5 pm, short and nasty.

Our place in Cooma was basking in -0.6C temperatures today, with wind-chill taking it down to -6.0C. Bit bitey, what!

First we got hit at 7.10 am and now this just ploughed through River Heads at 5pm, or 6pm for mexicans, it was short and nasty but only a bit of tree damage and some hail about.
This image is 30 minutes after the event, it was a little reder! when i pulled out all the plugs.
More to come tonight probly.
I know this as i want to go for a jog but cant!!

What with all this strange weather and cloud cover I just worked out they I have managed one three hour session at the scope in the last three weeks, and that was poor viewing. It's looking good for the weekend though, fingers crossed.

cheers
