I've asked Ben about making this post first for his OK.

This OTA makes for a wonderful dobbie mount project that can be done in a weekend. I've made several over the years, for friends, family and for schools,

If you have a little kid in your life, making a dobbie mount for this OTA will give them one gun scope to start with,
If throwing a hammer around is not your thing, most timber yards have cutting facilities to be able to cut out the required pieces for a nominal fee. You just need to provide them with the dimensions. Then a few screws, an ice cream tub for bearing tabs, a bit of laminate (if not using melamine board), a lick of paint, and away you go. Might need to borrow a mate's jigsaw to cut out the bearing slots and for hollows that act as handles.
Below is a photo of one such mount I made for a primary school using melamine board. If you use melamine, you will need to seal the cut ends with varnishl to stop water getting in.
