Speculation of meteor shockwave near Gladstone, Qld 26-Sep-2016 around 20:30 AEST

Jorge Branco in the Brisbane Times has a story today where
the police in Gladstone, Qld received multiple reports of "large bang, a
flash in the sky and shaking ground" around 8:30pm last night.

Speculation is that it may have been a large meteor.

I have just read a report by Ron Knight (astroron) who witnessed it.

I would guess that it was as bright as a first quarter moon about mag [minus]12.0 very intense green colour very short tail fairly large ball.
No sound.
if it fragmented I didn't see it as it went below a 5° hill.
If it was higher it would have lit up the whole area.

I had just finished observing the ring nebula, so was fortunate to be facing in the right direction.
A big wow went up from yours truly.

I hope there are some more observations. ?
