Virtual hand box???
When my Meade Auto Star was working I noticed a hand paddle on the screen. Can you do away with the actual hand paddle... mine is broken and its a case of buy another get around the problem, but I dont feel confident in spending more money on the lxd 55 so if the actual hand paddle could be done without I would be very happy... or do I start over with, as I am leaning to, a eq6 mount.
I now have a lap top ( a little acer with a gig ram and 60 meg drive (I think its 60 meg) and the goal is to get into auto guiding. I have a LPI which will have to do for the present as the guide camera I guess but my recolection was it was very hard to get a star to show on the screen..that could be me but I understand the lpi is effectively about 100iso which is not very sensative.
I plan to guide with an 80mm or 70mm but I could use a 150sn to guide and capture with the one day to be aquired 80mm triplet.
I am going round in circles again any comments will be gratefully apreciated.
I have spoken to Don at Bintel and he has a nice new white eq6 and its dark next week... I am hot to trot and that is confusing me. If I can use the lxd 55 I could get a 400d with the money saved...if I get the eq6 I could get rid of the lxd 55 and the eq5 mounts. The lxd 55 has been worked on and works well with sensible weight but I understand the eq6 is a long way ahead.
