SATURN & Clavius Nov 12th - I'm baack... just not firing on all 4 cylinders yet!

Hi All, after nearly 3 months of astro-absence I dragged out the Mewlon 180 for a first go at the new Season's Saturn. Thought I'd go with the Mewlon for quick cool down and to avoid the SCT corrector dew blues...

The Sun get's up earlier than I remember and I wasted 10 minutes trying to figure out how to get the LXD75 mount to track (it's been that long!). End result, about 15 minutes of frantic twilight snapping with the DMK... seeing was pretty woeful, only around 3/10, but I was happy enough that it was clear and to get a few "runs" (even if a tad blurry ones!) on the board. One quick R,G,B on Saturn and then flicked across to Clavius (Red only).

Well ... it has rings, but can't say it's my finest work

Also tried out Registax 4 - haven't been able to do anything decent with the MAP function on Saturn, but worked OK on the moon.

Anyway, here they are for what it's worth.

cheers,

Hi Robert, you've captured some great images, theres a lot of detail in Clavius despite the conditions.
I didn't even get a chance to even contemplate getting the camera out last night, the clouds came over that quickly.

cheers
