Eagle Nebula with Point Grey "Lucky Imaging" Luminance

This is a bit of an experiment, with image data combined from two different scope/camera setups. Luminance using a "lucky imaging" approach with a high frame rate camera with low read noise (< 2e)

Luminance = GSO 200mm f4 with a Point Grey Chameleon3 IMX264, 650 x 12s subs (captured with Firecapture, stacked with Autostakkert 2.6.8 with dark calibration only).
RGB = Vixen VC200L f6.4 with a QHY10 Color Camera, 23 x 600s subs, camera temp at -30C
(captured with SGPro, stacked with Pixinsight 1.8 with full dark/bias/flat calibration)

Combined image processed with Pixinsight 1.8

The Point Grey doesn't have active cooling, but I have retrofitted a heat sink and fan. Sensor temp was about 14C

That's really good Richard, good to see folk experimenting with these new cams.

Can you tell us if you had to cull many of the subs re. Lucky images? Did you select only the best?

Thanks Pete/Simon. I used 650 out of 750 sub frames in this case.

Very good detail there on the finger part. Excellent.
It must have been hard work processing that many images.

Greg.
