First Light ASI1600mm

Hi all.
I took possession of the ZWO ASI1600mm cooled camera this week.

This is first light.
1 minute red subs. Unguided. About 3 hours worth.
Cooled to -25. Unity gain.
Through my Sigma 150-500mm lens at 500mm.
No calibration of any description applied.
Multi scale sharpening and contrast in Astra image PS plug in.

Have to admit, this is pretty good.

What are your thoughts?

Cheers

Scott

Looks good Scott, with that typical ASi1600 smoothness. Sixty seconds is plenty for luminance of the Lagoon, and it's my standard for LRGB with that camera. Ray (Shiraz) produced an exposure chart a while back for different gain settings which you might find interesting. Although I have to admit I have pretty much standardised on 60" at Unity for broadband and 300" at Unity for Narrowband.

Thanks Glen.
Do you find calibration is required for 5 minute subs?
Also I have experienced the same problems you have with frozen downloads and hanging computer etc.
It's a little bit temperamental in that regard.
I have the efw and a moonlite focuser motor to integrate into sgp pro. Using nebulosity to image at the moment.
Going to add each device one by one.

Thanks
Scott

Narrowband is the only way (for a domesticated city dweller)...resistance is futile...
