Ok, some forums I'm on have an Ebay/Gumtree found/spotted type of thread. This is for people like me who troll gumtree, Ebay etc looking for bits I need. Quite often I find things you will be interested in but its not mine so I don't know about posting in the Classifieds.
suggestions on where to post?

Reason: Remove 3rd party ad - against TOS.
The terms of service are quite clear - advertising for a 3rd party is not allowed. Any exceptions to this are purely at Mike's discretion - for example he has in the past allowed equipment from deceased members to be advertised by other members assisting the deceased's family, etc - but you need Mike approval before doing so.
Yep I remember that bit , and as such I don't want to "advertise" as per classifieds, more bring it to the attention of members when I find things, so you could say that's "advertising" or not?
ok so how is it done to prevent issues with the TOS, the example I gave was removed because of that, so how does one do it? which was the original question not intending to breach rules, trying to find how or if it can be done
I think that's ok, but it probably is in breach of the TOS, but if Im wrong and that's ok , what's the difference between that and posting a link to a gumtree add (no connection to seller)? I'm not asking to post stuff for sale that someone else owns , just posting links to where something of interest is located (and only astronomy items)
The mods can correct me if I'm wrong, but would it not be ok to do something like:
"Just noticed this listing on Gumtree/eBay/Whatever site"
Then a direct link to that listing. If it is a private seller moving their own stuff, surely it shouldn't be an issue?
Can a mod please clarify? This would be good to know where the line in the sand is. A post like this would generally be a community service announcement, rather than blatant advertising. To my mind.

that's how I look at it, other sites I'm on have one thread and one only for Ebay (gumtree etc) finds or a separate section for Ebay etc finds within the for sales.
I see it as different to trying to advertise someone else's gear in your own name.
