Crash ..

Cold dark night, no moon, low LP, just getting some long awaited photons of NGC 5128 through the 8F8 and the Ob PC crashes out completely !
I had already downloaded about 25 mins of exposures but it won't even restart.
Bugga ... just as the night was getting to be useful.

I'll either upgrade a bit or at least put in a bigger HD and reload although I'm wondering if the Mother Board has croaked by the look of the symptoms. Have to see what is being chucked out at work.

I was worried this thread was going to be about the untimely demise of the Juno probe...

So I'm glad it's not, even though I feel for your tech frustrations.

I suspect there's been a bit of moisture invasion into the workings. Been a bit damp over here last two weeks, had condensation on the mount body last week. Plenty of throw out hardware at work, we're having a big clean out again so I'll pick up a newer model and run it up.
And work on a better weather proofing system for the roof.

you're not alone mate, captured comet x1 on the weekend and started processing and my hard drive died, going to take a few days to recover to a new drive and maybe another week until I can find out if I even got the comet. at least my source files are safe on my NAS and yours should be fine too, just a pain in the proverbial to get things running again in the mean time.
