ADSL2+ in parts of Newcastle

Yes Ive heard that a couple of ISPs have it in a handfull of exchanges. Sadly Wallsend aint one of them and worse, my ISP has no plans at all to bring it to Newcastle
The battle for people to get ADSL2+ is just like the battle for folks to get ANY kind of broadband, the only way to fix this is for Telstra to get off its rear end and enable ALL of Australia to ADSL2+
What really irks me is that ISPs can provide their own ADSL gear and connect customers to it for LESS then those of us stuck on Telstra exchanges.

Broadband in Australia is just horrible. In America and other European countries, they get CABLE for like US$25 a month.. no such thing as stupid download caps etc.

Telstra is the biggest ripoff when it comes to ADSL. They charge high prices because they can.

Considering Australia is suppose to have a well advanced comunication network we are far behind the rest of the world.

Just as Mike said my 1500/256 ADSL is not even considered as broadband over in the states.

This adsl 2 does look promising...I am waiting for it in Brisbane....already upgrade my wireless router just hoping it wont be far off.

I vote for a roaming global satellite which provides the internet for free.
