NGC6537 aka Lobster nebula

I cannot see the crustacean this is named for in my shot - this is my first attempt at the target and I think I need a few more hours on it...this stack is 24*20mins on an ST4000xc reduced to 50% resolution to keep under the size limit.

I think it looks more like a spider than a crustacean It looks good though, appears to be one of those areas that would benefit as a HaRGB shot. Using a OSC does make that a bit more difficult though.

Nice job

That's pretty good John, lovely subtleties going on there, nice

As for the Lobster nebula moniker, hmmm?..I think in the wide field view it has (slightly) more of a resemblance you can kinda see the ribbed thorax look and the curved claws...certainly the (cooked) colour is right

Very nice John. Some nice coloration going on there. A bit of a green gradient in the bottom 1/3rd of the image from light pollution. ACDNR in Pixinsight or a run of HLVG free Photoshop plugin or simply backing off levels in the green channel will help remove that.

Greg.
